Band Boosters
CMHS Band Boosters is a non-profit organization that was formed to be a support group for the band programs to help with both financial and moral needs when the school opened back in 1994. Anyone who has an interest in supporting the band can become a booster by paying the $3.00 dues each year and receive a membership card.
Band Boosters meet the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the band room, unless otherwise noticed. Meetings are held to discuss the upcoming events for the band, needs of the band program, organization of volunteers for various activities, goals for scheduled fundraisers and any other booster business. Meetings are lead by the Booster Board which consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Secretary, Logistics Director and the Band Directors. Board Officer Nominations are made by a Nomination Committee each April with elections held at the May meeting and officers assume their elected positions in June of each year. Anyone who is a paid booster member in good standing can be nominated and elected to the Board by majority vote of the members. The Boosters are a separate organization from the school and are governed by Bylaws created for the Boosters. However, the Bylaws are subordinate to School Board rules and WV State laws. Copies of the Bylaws are always available to any paid booster member.
In becoming a CMHS Band Booster, you are supporting the band program by volunteering your talents and time to help the students and the directors achieve the goals set forth each year. This program has a longstanding winning tradition that has been built by the former staff and continued by the new director(s) and staff. The success is due to the long hours of hard work put in not only by the students and the staff but also from the dedication of Booster members who help build props, sew uniforms, work concession, haul trailers, work fundraisers and last but not least follow the band and support them in the stands. Anyone who has ever been associated with the CMHS Knights Band Program will tell you it is a rewarding and fun experience! Becoming a Booster is an opportunity to support the band program and enrich your life with new experiences, friends and make wonderful memories you will surely remember for years to come!
We are a growing band and need everyone to join in and volunteer their time and talents when able. Take a leap of faith, jump in and join the fun, we promise you will have fun! We are a very welcoming group and we appreciate everyone’s time and ideas!
